Robert Pizzutiello, MS, FAAPM, FACMP, PMP, Joint Medical Physics Licensure Subcommittee (JMPLSC) Chairman, and Robert H. Smereka, MS, DABR, Michigan State Committee Captain, Joint Medical Physics Licensure Subcommittee (JMPLSC)
The symposium is scheduled for November 6, 2008 at the Genoa Woods Conference Center, 7707 Conference Center Dr., Brighton, MI 48114 (www.genoawoods.com). Members interested in participating in the Young Investigator Symposium should submit their abstract by October 15, 2008 (instructions are attached). Registration and the program will begin at 9:30 am and 10:00 am, respectively.
The program on licensure is aimed at providing the members of the Great Lakes Chapter more information about important initiatives of the national AAPM. The current proposed dues increase is partly needed to continue to support initiatives on licensure or registration in a number of states. The national AAPM is working to address the important issues of training and concern about setting national or state standards for our ability to practice medical physics.
