2009 Joint Fall Symposium

The combined Ohio River Valley and Penn-Ohio Chapters Fall Meeting will be held on
October 2-3, 2009 at Hyatt Regency Columbus Hotel, Columbus, OH.

The Theme of the Symposium is:

Quality Assurance and other Challenges in State of the Art Radiation Therapy

Five invited speakers have already been confirmed for this meeting:

  • Lei Dong, PhD, FAAPM, Associate Professor, MD Anderson Cancer Center
  • M. Saiful Huq, PhD, FAAPM, Professor and Director of Medical Physics, University of Pittsburgh.
  • Jatinder R. Palta, PhD, FAAPM, Professor and Chief of Physics, University of Florida.
  • Ping Xia, PhD, Chief of Physics, The Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
  • Lei Xing, PhD, Professor, Stanford University.

Over 10 additional presentations by chapter members and vendors are being arranged for this meeting. CAMPEP credits (tentatively 9 credit hours) are available for physicists; MDCB credits are available for dosimetrists.
Online registration at $50 for physicists, $30 for dosimetrists, and $5 for trainees (students/postdoc/residents) is available until September 25, 2009. Registration payments can be made by clicking the PayPal to the right.

We will be having a Night-Out on Friday Night of the Symposium.  We have made reservations at Tony’s Italian Ristorante in Columbus, OH.  The cost will be $30.00 per person to attend, with family members and companions welcome.  Unfortunately we will be forced to limit the number of attendees to the first 40 individuals who sign up.  Please use the PayPal link below to reserve your spot for the Night Out.  Directions to the restaurant will be provided at the Symposium.
