The Fall Symposium events will be held in Bloomington, IN on Friday & Saturday, September 10-11, 2010 in cooperation with Indiana University. The Meet & Greet night out event will take place on Friday the 10th from 6:00-10:00 pm at the ProCure Training Center for proton therapy. A tour of the ProCure Training Center will be available during the Meet & Greet event. Tours of the Midwest Proton Radiotherapy Institute (MPRI) and the Proton Therapy System (PTS) will be available on both Friday evening during the Meet & Greet event and Saturday afternoon immediately following the Symposium. The Symposium will take place on Saturday the 11th from 8:00-4:00 pm at the Midwest Proton Radiotherapy Institute (MPRI).
The focus of the symposium will be research presentations from our Chapter Full and Emeritus members on topics in medical physics. We are soliciting abstracts & speakers from our Chapter members at this time. Speakers will be chosen by the Chapter Executive Board based on current medical physics interests from the variety of the topics submitted. Each speaker will receive an honorarium following the conclusion of the symposium. The abstract submission deadline will be Friday, August 20th, 2010. Please submit your abstracts to Michael S. Gossman, M.S., f, Chapter President-Elect (mgossman@tsrcc.com). The Chapter Executive Board is planning to invite several speakers additionally. Chapter members are invited to nominate speakers for specific presentation.
We are pursuing MPCEC/ABR MOC credits (specifically 5.4 credit hours) for qualified medical physicists, MDCB credits for dosimetrists, and ARRT Category-A credits for technologists (tentatively 5.5 credit hours). We encourage all medical physicists, dosimetrists and therapists in our Chapter’s region to attend this meeting. Exhibitors do not have to register, however each must complete and submit the contract to attend and be provided space. Contracts will be provided directly to each company. To better plan the meeting, we would like to invite non-exhibitor members to register on-line soon at the discounted rate of only $5.
The deadline of online Symposium registration is Friday, August 27th, 2010. On-site registration will be available with an additional $10 charge.
