2016 Spring Symposium
The Spring Educational Symposium events will be held on Friday & Saturday, April 15-16, 2016 at the Courtyard Mariott in Springfield, Ohio (just NE of Dayton).
A Meet & Greet event will take place on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 pm, followed by a night-out event. The event will include Moderated Poster Sessions. Attendees, spouses, and exhibitors are all welcome at the reception, as it is primarily a social event. The symposium will take place Saturday, April 16. Exhibitor setup will begin at 7:00 am, and the program of talks will run from 8:00 am to about 4:00 pm.
The program for the symposium will consist of a keynote talk by a prominent medical physicist, ten 15-minute research talks by not-yet-board-certified physicists which will be judged by a committee, a final talk by another physicist, and an awards ceremony where cash prizes will be awarded to the top three of the research talks. After that will come a short business meeting for any chapter member interested in chapter events and affairs. If they wish, exhibitors can leave during the afternoon snack break sometime after about 2:00 pm.
