2015 Spring Symposium
The Spring Educational Symposium events will be held on Friday & Saturday, April 17-18, 2015 at the Radisson Conference Center in Toledo, OH. Toledo is easily accessible, via Detroit international airport or Toledo Express airport. A Meet & Greet event will take place on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 pm, followed by a night-out event with chartered bus service to lovely downtown Toledo. A reception will be provided including a cash bar. The location of the reception will be available soon. The event will include Moderated Poster Sessions, hosted in the lobby of the Dana Cancer Center, which is directly adjacent to the conference center. Attendees, spouses, and exhibitors are all welcome at the reception, as it is primarily a social event. The symposium will take place Saturday, April 18. Exhibitor setup will begin at 7:00 am, and the program of talks will run from 8:00 am to about 4:00 pm.
The program for the symposium will consist of a keynote talk by a prominent medical physicist, ten 15-minute research talks by not-yet-board-certified physicists which will be judged by a committee, a final talk by another senior physicist, and an awards ceremony where cash prizes will be awarded to the top three of the research talks. After that will come a short business meeting for any chapter member interested in chapter events and affairs. If they wish, exhibitors can leave during the afternoon snack break sometime after about 2:00 pm.

We ask that attendees register for these events in advance by
going to our Chapter website and paying through the PayPal
option so that we can produce a name badge for you as well as
monitor attendance. It will, however, be possible to register
on-site. The Saturday symposium will include a breakfast,
snacks, and lunch. All attendees must pay a one-time
registration fee, which covers both Meet & Greet and

SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS for POSTER PRESENTATIONS
Our poster presentation format is a good way to “float” your publication ideas! Posters will be presented at the Friday night meet and greet per tradition and will be up for viewing during the Saturday program.
HURRY! We will accept abstracts until October March 15, 2015 for anyone interested in presenting a poster. In addition to the OHINKY competition, ANYONE may submit abstracts for poster presentations. Those of you who interact with students, please forward this email and encourage students to submit. Even undergraduate students are welcome. We want a minimum of ten abstracts for the speakers at the meeting. If there are more than ten, then the ones not selected to speak can present a poster if they wish. All speakers get $100 for travel expenses, and the top three presenters will receive additional monetary awards. Abstracts should be limited to 2500 characters (not including spaces) and may include an additional single page of supporting data. PDFs of the documents should be sent to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please also include a copy of your CV with your abstract for the purposes of CAMPEP credit.
We will be applying for 6 CAMPEP credits. We will not be applying for MDCB credit.

Meet & Greet: A Meet & Greet and moderated poster session event will take place on Friday, April 17, 2014, from 6:00-8:00 pm. A reception will take place in the lobby of the Dana Cancer Center which is connected to the Radisson Hotel on the UT medical campus. Drinks and hors d''oeuvres will be provided. An opportunity to tour the facility will also be available. Attendees, spouses, and exhibitors are all welcome at the reception, as it is primarily a social event. For those interested in continuing the social festivities, a bus service is being provided that will take guests to and from The Oliver House in downtown Toledo. The bus will run a continuous service for 4 hours and return guests to the hotel.
