RapidArc is a novel method for the planning and delivery of highly conformal dose distributions using a single arc around the patient. The technique changes MLC shape, dose rate, and gantry speed during the arc to achieve an optimal treatment with a single arc. RapidArc treatment times for 2 Gy fractions are typically on the order of 90 seconds.
