Call for Speakers

Hello AAPM North Central Chapter Members,

The North Central Chapter of the AAPM will convene for its Spring 2019 meeting on Friday, April 26.  We hope you can join us for the meeting.

The NCCAAPM executive committee is currently preparing the meeting program.  If you are interested in presenting a talk at the meeting, please contact me at your earliest convenience.  Appropriate presentations should be relevant to either radiation therapy, diagnostic radiology, or nuclear medicine, and may be scientific, professional, or educational in nature.

We will hold both our standard Young Investigator Competition and another installment of the MedPhys Slam, both of which will be open to student, junior, and resident members of the AAPM.  For this meeting the Young Investigator Competition will feature ~10 minute presentations targeted to the audience of medical physicists, while the MedPhys Slam will feature 3 minute presentations on the "what, how, and why" of the individual's research presented to a panel of general-audience judges.

Eligible individuals are encouraged to present in both sessions, as the aims of the two presentation styles are different.

Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three Young Investigator presentations.  The winner of the MedPhys Slam competition will be nominated to represent our chapter in the upcoming Slam competition at the 2019 National Meeting in San Antonio, TX.

If you are able to contribute a talk to our meeting, please send me your proposed presentation title and estimated length.  Those interested in the Young Investigator Competition and MedPhys Slam should also let me know their desire to participate.  I hope to have the program complete by Friday, March 22.

Thanks for your time, and please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Zac Labby

NCC AAPM President-Elect
