Application has been made to
CAMPEP for medical physics continuing education credits (exact number still to
be determined).
Meeting format consists of
talks on PowerPoint slides. Discussion on the talks can occur either after the
talk or prior to breaks/lunch depending on available time. Student/Resident
presentation competition will occur in the afternoon session with monetary
awards given to the top three talks.
Practicing medical physicists,
medical physics students, and medical dosimetrists will benefit from the talks
at this meeting.
Practical aspects of the
practice of medical physics are emphasized in the presentations.
Objectives

Discuss radiobiological modeling
in radiation therapy
·
Discuss low level radiation dose
·
Examine uncertanties in LDR and
HDR brachytherapy
·
Review a new method to ensure
that two radiation sources are not in operation at
the same time in the
same room
·
Review the use of electronic
medical records in radiation oncology
·
Review the results of research in
the areas of dose measurement and photon interactions
·
Learn about the movement toward
minimum practice standards in medical physics

The
chapter meetings are wholly supported by the member/vendor annual dues and
meeting registration fees.

The Glacier Canyon Lodge. The discount rate for a Double Queen Couch room,
maximum 6 people, is $99 +11.5% tax and a $9.95 nightly resort fee. We have a
minimum of 25 rooms blocked for Friday and Saturday nights although additional
rooms can be booked at the discount rate if they are available. After August 17th any unused rooms
in the block are released to the general public.
Reservations can be canceled
without penalty up until August 17th.
Between August 17th and 72 hours prior to the conference the cancellation
penalty is $20. Cancellations within 72 hours pay for the entire room rate.
Wrist bands to all water parks
are included in the room rate.
