Old business discussion:
· Recognition was made for the chapter monetary donation to the Annual meeting and the chapter poster that was placed at the meeting. · Discussion is on going about the possibility of having a meeting devoted to past AAPM presidents from the chapter.
New business discussion:
· Rocky Mountain chapter had an entire meeting devoted to AAPM presidents from that chapter. Can we do something like that in the future? · Speaker honorariums – Do we give honorariums to chapter members who speak at the meeting? Discussion ensued on that topic. It was also discussed on how to choose an outside speaker, do you go with a specific topic? On occasion we have had a Thursday meeting on a particular topic. · Student competition – Do we open up the competition to Residents and Post-Doc’s? Discussion ensued on what a Post-Doc does. It varies at various institutions, in some cases the Post-Doc is also being trained in medical physics, while in other cases they do only the designated research. It was decided that residents and Post-Docs’s who are being trained in clinical medical physics would be eligible for the student presentation award, while Post-Doc’s that are only working on research would not be eligible. In the future the competition will be called a “Young Investigators Competition”.
The spring 2009 Chapter Meeting will possibly be held in Eau Claire, WI. Robert Dahl will look into finding a suitable meeting facility in Eau Claire. If one is not available John Wochos volunteered Lacrosse WI.
Meeting was adjourned at 1:40 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
