The NCC‐AAPM will hold a joint meeting with the North Central Chapter of the Health Physics Society on Friday, April 11 2014, at the Mayo Conference Center at Assisi Heights in Rochester MN.

Application has been made to CAMPEP (5.4 hours) and to MDCB (4.5 hours) for continuing education credits.The exact number of credits that will be granted will be determined by CAMPEP and MDCB. Please pay at the meeting site with cash or check. Registration fees include breakfast, lunch, and snacks. A tour of the Mayo Clinic Proton Facility is being considered. The tour would be space‐limited with seats given to those who RSVP first. Please RSVP with your meeting registration by Friday, April 4th. Final determination of the tour and its attendees will be announced by Wednesday, April 9.
The oral presentations feature scientific, professional, and educational talks for medical physicists, dosimetrists, and health physicists. Educational objectives include learning about considerations for:
o Development of a proton therapy facility
o Initiation of a radioactive seed breast tumor localization program
o Improving the communication and instruction of radiation physics
o Methods for adapting the QA principles and techniques from systems engineering to radiation therapy
o Calibration issues of radiation dosimeters
o New technology for patient‐specific treatment QA
o Historical perspectives and lessons learned for radiation protection concerns
o Historical perspectives and lessons learned for the publication of medical physics and dosimetry
o General discussion germane to the medical physics and dosimetry and health physics professions
NCC meetings are wholly supported by member/vendor annual dues and by meeting registration fees.
Medicine from the States of Wisconsin, Minnesota, North and South Dakota and
contiguous areas not served by other Chapters of the Association.
