Notice from one of our speakers, Brooke Buddemeier:
Thank you for your interest in Nuclear Detonation Response Planning, you can find my presentation "Duck and Cover 2.0" on the following website: https://responder.llnl.gov/training
On this site you can also find a 20 minute video PrepTalk that does a similar presentation (but for a detonation in Washington DC). For a more family friendly version, there is an Animated TED-Ed "Can you Survive Nuclear Fallout?" on https://responder.llnl.gov/publications
For those of you in the medical community wondering how you can help with a response, the Radiation Injury Treatment Network (RITN) is a national network of medical centers with expertise in the management of bone marrow failure and works with partners from other medical specialties to assist with managing acute radiation syndrome (ARS) and its health-related consequences. see: https://ritn.net/ (they also have some pretty good online training at their website).
There is also a FEMA program of Radiological Operations Support Specialists (ROSS) that trains radiation safety professions in emergency response so they can use their education and experience to help in an emergency. https://www.fema.gov/sites/default/files/2020-07/fema_cbrn-ross.pdf
Thank you for your interest in response preparedness!
Stay Safe! Brooke
